Troxel Repair Monthly Newsletter – June 2025

Welcome to Summer!

Hi Reader,

Welcome to the first Troxel Repair Newsletter! I'm launching a monthly newsletter to share what I've been working on, along with trivia, tips, and other updates from the world of arcade and pinball repair.

Since this is the first issue, expect the format to evolve. For now, I'm including both arcade and pinball content—but in the future, I may split them into separate newsletters.

If this newsletter isn’t your thing, no worries. Click here and I won’t send it to you again.

Guess the Arcade Game

Which classic arcade game is this?

Released in 1981, this game features a unique character. There are no weapons, no power-ups—just pure timing and a lot of lives lost to poor judgment. It’s cute, frustrating, and surprisingly intense for a game about crossing the street.

What game is it?

A) Frogger
B) Q*bert
C) Centipede
D) Dig Dug

Maintenance Tips: EM Pinball Score Reels

Dust and grime can build up on EM score reels over time, causing misalignment or skipping. Here’s a quick guide to help you clean and maintain them:

  1. Remove the Reel Assembly: Unscrew the mounting screws and carefully disconnect wires (if needed).
  2. Clean the Reel & Mechanics: Use a soft cloth to clean the reels and remove grease on the mechanisms.
  3. Check for Wear: Inspect the coil sleeves and springs, replacing any worn parts.
  4. Reassemble and Test: Ensure the reel rotates smoothly and resets correctly.

Andrew Harris posted a great infographic on Facebook for the score reels and switch positions.
